  3. Social platforms choose and cache link previews, so an older preview may take time to refresh.

Send support, privacy, accessibility or content-rights inquiries to authorized hosts.

  1. Enter your name, reply email and a topic. Describe the issue without sensitive documents or passwords.
  2. Tap Send private message and save the reference shown.
  3. Hosts review these inquiries manually. They cannot publish them to the public board. This form does not automatically delete content or accounts.

Listen to VODV

Play starts the station on this device. During a live segment you hear the broadcasting host, connected cohosts, approved caller, music and effects. Otherwise you hear the music rotation.

  1. Tap Listen live, Enter the frequency, or the dock play button. Browsers need your tap before audio can start.
  2. Pause stops only your listening. It does not stop the station.
  3. Adjust the volume slider and your device volume. If audio stops, tap play again and check your connection.

Bass boost

Adds low-frequency emphasis to the built-in music rotation on your device.

  1. Tap Feel the bass to turn it on; tap again to turn it off.
  2. Use a comfortable volume. This setting does not change an external stream or the live broadcast mix.

Cinema & visual effects

Cinema expands the control room. Effects controls moving lights, visualizers and scrolling motion.

  1. Tap Cinema mode to expand; tap Exit cinema or press Escape to leave.
  2. Tap Effects off to reduce motion. Your device’s reduced-motion preference is respected when you first arrive.
  3. These controls affect your screen only.

Control room shortcuts

These pads open the same station features found elsewhere on the page.

  1. LIVE plays or pauses your audio. REQUEST, SHOUT and VOICE open a message form.
  2. BOARD shows approved city posts. MY DROPS shows messages linked to this browser session.
  3. CALL opens the caller room. CINEMA expands the console.

Request a track

Send a song suggestion to the host for review. Sending a request does not automatically play the song.

  1. Enter your on-air name, song title and artist. Add a dedication if you like.
  2. Tap Send to the station. Check My drops for its status.
  3. The host decides what to play and what to publish to the board.

Send a shout-out

Give someone a mention or dedication for the host to review.

  1. Add your on-air name and the person or message you want to celebrate.
  2. Tap Send to the station. The host may share your words on air or publish them to the board.

City message board

The public board shows written posts approved by a host.

  1. Tap Add your voice or Talk to the city. Enter an on-air name and a message of up to 500 characters.
  2. Send it for review. It appears publicly only if a host publishes it.
  3. Avoid putting private contact details in a public message.

Leave a voice message

Record a message of up to 60 seconds for the host inbox. Recording pauses your station playback to avoid feedback.

  1. Allow microphone access, then tap Start recording. Tap Stop recording when finished.
  2. Play your recording back, or use Record again to replace it. Add your on-air name and an optional note.
  3. Tap Send to the station. The host can review it and may share it on air; the recording is not posted on the public board.
  4. If permission is blocked, open the station in its own browser tab and allow Microphone in site settings.

My drops

Tracks the requests and messages associated with your current listener session.

  1. Open My drops to see pending, approved, played or hidden status.
  2. Played is a host’s review marker, not automatic audio playback. Approval does not guarantee airplay.
  3. Clearing browser data or changing browsers can disconnect your guest history.

City Cred

Participation points for your current listener session. These are recognition points, not money.

  1. Tap Check in for the daily check-in reward.
  2. Sending a drop can earn daily points for that message type. Repeat submissions do not repeatedly earn the same daily reward.
  3. Your level grows with your total. Guest points may be lost when you clear browser data.

Live caller room

Up to three signed-in hosts and one caller can connect. The host must approve a caller before their microphone is shared.

  1. Enter your on-air name and test your microphone. Use headphones.
  2. Listeners tap Request the caller seat when the line is open. Wait for host approval.
  3. Mute stops your microphone; Unmute restores it. Leave room ends your connection.
  4. If a live radio segment is running, connected voices may be heard by everyone listening. Restrictive networks can prevent calls; leave a voice message if connection fails.

Microphone setup

Select and test your microphone before connecting to the conversation.

  1. Choose the microphone, then Test microphone and allow the browser permission. Speak and check the meter. Testing alone does not join the room.
  2. Stop the test before choosing a different input. Connect microphone joins a host seat; Request the caller seat joins the listener waiting room.
  3. If blocked, open the station in its own tab, allow Microphone in browser site settings, and retry. Close another app if it is using your mic.
  4. Use headphones to keep the station audio from feeding back into the microphone.

Seats, mute & caller line

Seat cards show who is connected and whether the caller is waiting or admitted.

  1. Hosts sign in and connect a microphone to occupy one of three host seats.
  2. Open caller line lets a listener request the single caller seat. Closing it prevents new callers; use End caller access to remove an existing caller.
  3. Mute affects your own microphone only. Leave room disconnects you; if you are broadcasting, the segment ends.

Start / end a live segment

The broadcasting host sends their microphone, their DJ deck, connected cohosts and the approved caller to the public radio player.

  1. Connect your microphone to a host seat. Preview your music and effects, then enter the segment name.
  2. Tap Start live segment. Wait until the status says On air; listeners hear a short delay, usually 6–12 seconds.
  3. Keep the broadcasting tab open and the device awake with a stable connection. Only one host produces the public mix at a time.
  4. Tap End live segment to return listeners to the station rotation. Ending the segment does not automatically disconnect everyone from the room.

DJ music deck

Host-only playback controls. In Preview, you hear the deck locally. When this host broadcasts, the deck is included in the public mix.

  1. Select a track and press Play music. Pause stops the deck; Next track moves to the next song. Tracks advance automatically.
  2. Refresh playlist loads recent music-library changes.
  3. Talk over music lowers the song while you speak. Restore music volume returns it to the slider setting.
  4. The Music slider controls this deck’s level. Other hosts’ decks are not included unless they are the broadcasting host.

Live studio sound effects

Group claps, Loud crowd claps, Crowd boo and Loud alarm play the station’s supplied sound clips. Listeners hear effects during your broadcast but cannot trigger them.

  1. Tap an effect pad to play it. The Sound effects slider adjusts its level.
  2. Effects can overlap, up to four at a time. Stop effects cuts off the currently playing clips.
  3. Preview before going live. Only the broadcasting host’s effect deck goes to the public station.

Approve a caller

A listener waits silently until a host allows their connection.

  1. Connect a host microphone and open the caller line in the live room.
  2. Check the caller’s name in the waiting room. Tap Allow caller access to connect them.
  3. During a live segment, an admitted connected caller can be heard on public radio.
  4. Decline caller removes a waiting caller. End caller access disconnects an admitted caller and frees the single caller seat.

Music library

Manage the audio used by the automatic station rotation and host DJ playlist.

  1. Choose an audio file up to 30 MB. Enter its track title and artist or show name.
  2. Wait for its duration to load, then Add to playlist. Upload audio you own or have broadcast permission to use.
  3. Remove takes a track out of rotation. Refresh playlist in the DJ deck after making changes.
  4. An empty playlist falls back to the station’s original launch instrumental.

Review listener messages

Review music requests, shout-outs, written posts and private voice messages.

  1. Use the filter to show Needs review, All messages, Published, Played or Hidden.
  2. Publish to board makes a written message public. Voice recordings stay in the host inbox.
  3. Mark played updates the message status; it does not send that audio to the live broadcast.
  4. Hide removes an item from the public board. Audio controls here preview a voice message locally.

Private supporter list

Names, email addresses and phone numbers submitted through the station’s own supporter form. Only authenticated hosts can access this list.

  1. Refresh to load new sign-ups. Previous and Next browse lists longer than 50 supporters.
  2. Email and phone links open your device’s mail or calling app. They do not send a message automatically.
  3. Email updates shows whether that supporter opted in. Respect that choice when contacting them.

Station settings

Update the public show and host names and optional station connections.

  1. Edit Show name or Host name, then Save settings.
  2. Optional connections contains an external audio-stream URL and a telephone number. Leave blank to use the built-in music and caller room.
  3. A stream must be a playable HTTPS audio source, not a webpage link. The phone number, when supplied, may be displayed publicly.

Host sign-in & dashboard

The station’s private studio uses its own host credentials. A listener or supporter account does not grant host access.

  1. Enter the host username and password supplied by the station owner. Show password lets you check your entry.
  2. After sign-in, choose Live studio, Music, Messages, Supporters or Settings. Changing dashboard tabs keeps the live studio mounted.
  3. If your browser cannot keep you signed in, open the station in its own tab and allow its cookies. Follow any retry time shown after failed attempts.
  4. Sign out ends dashboard access. End your live segment and leave the room before signing out.

Supporter sign-up

An optional station account. Everyone can listen and install the app without signing up.

  1. Choose Join VODV and enter your name, email, phone and a password of at least 10 characters.
  2. Names and contact details are saved privately for hosts, not posted to the public board. Station updates are optional.
  3. Already registered? Choose Sign in and enter your email and password. Keep listening without an account returns to the station.

Install the VODV app

Add the station to your home screen, Dock or desktop through your browser. No app-store account or host sign-in is needed.

  1. Tap Install app to open the device guide. Use Install now if your browser offers it.
  2. Otherwise follow the steps for your device. Some browsers offer only a home-screen shortcut.
  3. Listening, live calls and messages need an internet connection. Installation does not download the music library.
